The Travel Retail Bootcamp helps small and emerging producers better understand and harness the brand building power of the Travel Retail sector. First launched in Tasmania, the concept is now being rolled out to other airports and locations across Australia and New Zealand.
The objective of the Bootcamp is to assist airports in achieving a greater proportion of local brand representation in their duty free, specialty and F&B offers by helping small local brands understand what they need to do to be successful in the channel.
Entry into the Travel Retail channel can be a daunting task for local brands and boutique producers. Supplying airport stores involves dynamics not seen off-airport, including logistics specific to the industry. In facilitating these connections, our first step is peeling back the mystique of airport retail, and helping local brands build a clear roadmap for how they can enter, and succeed, within the channel.
The inclusion of an authentic local product story within the Travel Retail offer plays an important role in creating meaningful passenger experiences. It’s an undertaking that involves collaboration between airports, retailers and local brands. The Bootcamp brings these stakeholders together, in a forum designed to educate, engage and connect.
